ABOUT US

Our Mission

SAFIRE (Spencer’s Association for Interventional Research) is dedicated to revolutionizing medical care for individuals suffering from complex pathologies associated with deep venous disease and chronic pelvic pain. Our mission encompasses four essential pillars:

  1. Education and Awareness: SAFIRE strives to enlighten healthcare providers and physicians about alternative diagnosis and treatment options for complex pathologies associated with chronic pain. Through comprehensive educational initiatives, we aim to broaden awareness and understanding, fostering a culture of innovation and open-mindedness within the medical community.
  2. Research and Advocacy: SAFIRE raises funds to support research grants in the field of interventional medicine, with a focus on validating the efficacy and safety of alternative minimally invasive treatments. Through rigorous scientific inquiry, we seek to generate compelling evidence that will advocate for insurance coverage of these innovative therapies, ensuring access to comprehensive care for all patients.
  3. Patient Support: SAFIRE recognizes the financial burden faced by patients seeking non-covered services for chronic pain management. We endeavor to alleviate this burden by raising funds to support individuals in need, ensuring that cost does not hinder access to effective treatment options.
  4. Restoration of Hope: SAFIRE aims to restore hope in patients who have been searching for answers and relief from their pain. Through our efforts in education, research, and patient support, we strive to instill optimism and resilience in those navigating the challenges of chronic pain.

Through our collective efforts, SAFIRE strives to empower patients, enhance medical practice, and ultimately improve the quality of life for those living with chronic pain. Join us in our mission to revolutionize healthcare and pave the way towards a brighter, pain-free future.

Dr. Spencer’s illustrious career began as a pioneer in the field of interventional radiology, marked by her unwavering dedication to patient care and innovative research. Throughout her tenure as Chairman of Radiology and Interventional Radiology at Littleton Adventist Hospital and as Medical Director and CEO of Minimally Invasive Procedure Specialists (MIPS), Dr. Spencer distinguished herself as a leader and advocate for minimally invasive procedures.

With over 22 years of experience treating complex venous diseases, Dr. Spencer’s expertise has significantly impacted the medical community. She has performed thousands of venous interventions, demonstrating her passion and commitment to improving patient outcomes. Dr. Spencer’s professional accolades, including recognition as one of the “Best Doctors” in the Denver Business Journal and induction into the Fellowship of the Society of Interventional Radiology, underscore her exceptional contributions to the field.
